Well our 10th Birthday Bash on Saturday April 2026, was a fantastic success, even though some people could not make it in the end with other commitments and priorities, we still managed to make a bit of a difference, we met the legend that is Bridget Gardner and her great fella Simon.   No stopping us now for next year.    Everyone who attended said it was a truly amazing inspirational night and people are already asking about our next event, which we hope it will be our 11th Birthday next April (27) so be prepared.   A huge thanks to our wonderful host Alan “The Voice of Old Trafford” Keegan, his wife Julie,  Bridget & Simon who travelled up to see us in Stockport all the way from Dover.  Fellow wobblers who made it, John and his Wife Lindsey, Dan and his Daughter Layla and Emma, Rhian. and her tribe, Peter and the rest of the Phillips clan, the wonderful Nicola, Caz and her brother from the Denton massive and Mandy who joined via video link from Taunton.   Along with all the staff at Stockport County / Edgeley Park.

Just a snapshot of some the photos from the night but I think the main take away was there is always HOPE.

Our group is always there, to encourage, to provide humour, and remind ourselves that we are survivors for a reason, to tell each other, especially if there’s one new to their recovery, that a good life still goes on. We can embrace it and be glad for ourselves and for others.   It goes without saying that we do not get any funding whatsoever from local authorities or via the government so we really do rely on help off you guys so matter how small the donation it all helps.   It costs money to run a charity correctly to ensure we are governed by the funding regulator and to undertake zoom calls in our drop ins it takes money for the licence to operate, let alone all the liability insurance so please PLEASE help us continue.   I wont mention names but last week we were visited by a chap and his mother and father because they had heard about the work that we do,  the son had a stroke in 1997 aged just 17 and the support they have received is zilch which frustrates me so much but in the space of a week, he came back to the drop in this time on his own and he spoke brilliantly and I can only put that down to the fact that he was relaxed, we were non judgemental, we gave him time, encouragement and id like to say that he felt he was amongst friends.     Another attendee simply said the we had given her a lifeline so what we do works.   We have proof, everyone deserves the right to be heard and thankfully we do bring HOPE.
