This month means a lot to me upon reflection as the 10th September 2026 will mark 14 years since the word STROKE really came into my life. Although I had heard about it and seen the impact it can bring to a family, not just the stroke patient but the wider family, I really had no idea until that day 14 years ago but I was just starting on a journey I never wanted to be on. Now 14 years have passed and I am actually glad it happened as I believe it changed me for the better as a person and my new found wobbler buddies had an unbreakable bond and is partly the reason why StrokeInformation was born, thanks to the skills and foresight of JB who im an eternally grateful he showed me a way I could raise awareness through this platform and lived experience is the foundation of everything as no one will ever truly know unless they have walked in these shoes.
I have also recently undertook a counselling course to offer counselling as a service for those impacted by Stroke as quite simply it doesn’t exist and I want to change that. I also did a first aid course with the lovely Jo at Manchester First Aid and after hearing my story she penned a song. Click below to hear……I was blown away…..
