2019 – May
Welcome to another Stroke Awareness month; Letting people know about stroke, providing others with great information, support and hope is paramount to what we do and I am so so grateful for the opportunity to share stories from not only my own recovery journey but also those who have also got stories to tell to inspire and provide support and HOPE for others.
Firstly what a month April was, we had our biggest collective attendees in April with more people coming to our group which is testament that we must be doing something right. Secondly what a season from a personal perspective which saw my team, the club I was once honoured to play for, promoted back to the national league or if you are of a certain age, the conference that it was know in my day. WELL DONE Gaffer and the rest of the management team and back room staff, along with the playing squad and the unsung hero’s who I won’t mention as there are lots of us 😉 but you know who you are. Also a massive congratulations to the board and rest of the Stockport County staff who make the club what it is, an absolute honour to be part of, our town, our team. Support is immense !!! Well done every single one of you. Speaking about support, can I just also congratulate the team who have supported StrokeInformation recently namely, Luke Aldreridge, Rod Alderidge, Connie Alderidge, Matty Clarke, Haydn Brown, The Swan & Marc Brown who completed the 127 mile trip by canoe (Leeds to Liverpool) on Sunday afternoon. For anyone who who like to donate to support them who inturn are supporting what we do. As the boys enjoy a well earned break in Magaluf, perhaps the team can support these six novices who completed the trek. Perhaps, Paul Turnbull, Matty Warbuton, Sam Walker, Sam Minihan, Elliot Osbourne, Szymon Czubik, Ashley (The Brick Wall) Palmer, Jordan Keane, Nyal Bell, Adam Thomas, Jordan Downing, Festus Arthur and Dan the Man Cowan who also smuggled a sausage !!!!!
