2020 October
Welcome to October 2020, yes that’s right October! Who would have though we are now 10 months in to this crazy year and I don’t believe there is one single person on this planet who won’t want to see the back of this year?
Who would have also predicted over million deaths now because of this COVID pandemic, however to kind of put it into context that million is still a 17th short of the number of Strokes happen each year globally?
29th October see us celebrate another year of World Stroke Day and we are promoting it a little with https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/tyrone whereby for a minimum of a £2 donation you have a chance to win a bit of TV celebrity as he signed a StrokeInformation T-Shirt which you can own……so please have a go and try and win this great t-shirt.
We are also thinking a little outside of the box in the current climate and we are providing online support to others impacted by Stroke. In addition to our existing platforms we run Sir@StrokeInformation.co.uk whereby if you or a family member have been impacted by Stroke you can email Sir (Stroke Information Relate) to be connected to someone who has been there, walked in those shoes, fully know what you or they are experiencing and what is more have proven mechanisms to help you or them with advice, support, lived experience of coping with this new version of yourself or themselves. So please what are you waiting for? Please get in touch today
Why StrokeInformation? Well our service is FREE and believe it or not we know what we do works. Recently, we were contacted by a Stroke survivor who had moved into the borough and they did not know what kind of support mechanisms were available but they were signposted to us by our friends at Disability Stockport. Anyway I went round the next day after making the appointment with the family, we hit it off straight away and I explained our mantra that we care because we have been there. To cut a long story short we helped the family by advising them what to put on some paperwork to enable them to appeal a decision made by the DWP and we compiled a letter detailing our findings from going through the various medical factual records, it isn’t easy to do but we perserveid and I can report that last week the family were awarded higher rate mobility and a higher rate daily living component – Yes bravo you may think, but even better than that, was the news that they were going to back date the award therefore leaving the family very grateful for contacting us and us offering that support. We did it for FREE because we care because we have been there. That is why it is paramount that anyone can support what we do by making a £2.00 donation here
This is really interesting ??
