2020 September
September, always a special month and none ever so relevant as this month reminds me of the time I had my Stroke and gives me a reminder how far I have come and who I have met along the way. From that very dark time in September 2012 to what is StrokeInformation a registered charity in its own right, first I have to thank my family, who have supported me which has intern allowed me to help others. A huge thanks has to also go to JB who gave me the insight to do something in terms of telling the story of my stroke but also allowed me to meet others who have been impacted by a similar situation from the early days and having my judgement of others clouded by someone that was just wanted to be part of this to make money, the same person that I have not spoken with for over 3 years now right up to the new friendships we have made along the way with people who want to make a difference rather than their own fortune. In a way it is very much like recovering from a stroke, you have to give it time, don’t rush yourself, set yourself small goals and try try again. StrokeInformation is now growing, we are a relatively small team but a mighty one and no-one can replicate or impersonate what we have. #WeCareBecauseWeveBeenThere.
